1 Day Lake Bunyonyi Tour.

THE BEAUTIFUL LAKE IN AFRICA!

Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest Lake in Uganda and second in Africa, third in the whole world! The lake is found in the south western part of Uganda, in the region called KIGEZI REGION, in Kabale District.

The lake has no Bilhazia, no crocodiles, no hippos and it is good for swimming. Lake Bunyonyi means ( the place of little birds )  and it is definately deserves such name.

The lake has over 100 species of birds and no doubt that as you do activities with this lake Bunyonyi community, you will be observing this.
There are a lot of activities while staying within this lake Bunyonyi, these activities includes;


  • Boat rides to the Islands
  • Canoeing
  • Bird  Watching
  • Hiking to the top of Lake Bunyinyo hill
  • Cultural Tours and many other interesting activities.

The lake has 29 Islands scatted all around the lake, and some tourists normally tour the following Islands;

  • Dr. Sharp Island
  • Kyahugye Island ( the Island with wild life on it )
  • Bwama Island ( the Island  and which has schools, hospital, churches and many other interesting things like primary school.

The community surround this lake are friendly and peaceful,they are eager to help and guide you in case you need any help. However there is no major economic activities here at this lake apart from Tourism.

The community grow on small scale plantation, like bean plantation, potatoes , Banana plantation etc. and their means of transport is only by Canoeing and motor boat ride.

The lake is too deep , it was formed by larva during millions years ago  ( it is a larva damed lake ), so many community people were born and found the lake in place.
